Skeletons in the closet

November 17, 2014

Hola y'all,
Alrighty, I'll just crush your hopes and dreams right off the bat. Adela did not get baptized this week. But it's ok! On Tuesday we went over the baptismal interview questions with her, and she answered one of the questions honestly (which is good!!!), but it requires her to have an interview with our mission president. Her interview is scheduled this week, so hopefully she will be baptized on Sunday, November 23rd. Adela was really bummed that she couldn't get baptized last week, but we know that it will all work out!! Tengan animo, mis amigos! Expect baptism pictures next Monday! :)
This week our recent convert John went to the family history center to get his mom and brother's temple work ready. When he got set up on familysearch.org, one of the workers warned him, "Ok. Once you press this button, you could discover some 'skeletons in the closet'. You are going to find out everything you didn't want to know about your ancestors." Well, he found a pretty big "skeleton in the closet." Apparently John's father didn't die in WWII like his mother told him, but instead lived until 1981 and had five more children with another woman.... John is handling this news extremely well, considering he went his whole life believing a lie.
Yay family history!! :)
But seriously, family history is awesome. I want to be better at it after my mission.
Life is Corpus Christi is good and cold! I love you all and I hope you are enjoying that snowy Colorado weather!
Love

Hermana Angus
